What you need to study online

A phone is enough to read a lesson. Tests and written work need a little more. This page lists it all, so nothing surprises you after you enrol.

Equipment

The equipment

Nothing to install, and nothing to buy if you already have a computer and a connection.

  • A deviceA laptop or desktop computer for tests and written tasks. Lessons can be read on a phone or a tablet.
  • A browserA current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox. The courses open in the browser, with no software to install.
  • A connectionA steady internet connection. Lessons are mostly text, so an ordinary home or mobile connection is enough.
  • An email addressOne that is yours alone and that you read regularly. Your offer, your results and every decision reach you there.
  • Your documentsA way to scan or photograph your certificates clearly, and a program that opens PDF files.
  • Your IDYour passport or national ID, for the identity check before a test.
Skills

What you need to be able to do

  • Read and write in English

Courses, tests and messages from the University are in English. You need enough English to study a university course in it.

  • Use a computer for everyday work

Browse the web, write a document, upload a file and send an email. Nothing more technical is asked of you.

  • Keep a regular hour

A course is about 135 hours of learning. Short lessons fit a free hour, and most of the applied work is done inside your own job.

For tests

When you sit a test

  • Sit alone, in one sitting. Choose a quiet place and a time when you will not be interrupted. The time allowed is shown before you start.
  • Use a computer. A full keyboard and a larger screen make a test easier to read and to answer.
  • Have your ID ready. Each test starts with an identity check. You are told what the check involves before your first test.
  • If your connection drops. Write to technical support the same day. The record shows what happened, and a person decides whether the test is reopened.

The rules that protect the meaning of your grade are in the academic integrity policy.
