Enrolment and refund policy

You pay for one course at a time, so there is never more than one course fee at stake. This page says exactly when that fee comes back to you.

Version 2026.1. This policy is part of the enrolment agreement you accept before any payment. All amounts are in US dollars.

Before you pay

Nothing is charged for a course until three things happen

  1. You receive your offer

Your program, your study plan, your total fee and the order of your courses, in writing.

  2. You read our statements

You confirm that you have read the accreditation statement and this policy.

  3. You accept

Payment for your first course opens only after your acceptance is recorded.

Course fees

If you withdraw from a course

Days are counted from the day the course opens in your account. The date we receive your written request is the date that counts.

  1. Days 1 to 7100%of the course fee is refunded
  2. Days 8 to 2150%of the course fee is refunded
  3. After day 210%the course stays open for you to finish

The one condition

  • A refund applies only if you have not started the final assessment or the experience test of that course. Once an assessment has started, the service the fee pays for has been delivered.
  • Opening lessons, doing practice work and using the study assistant do not affect your refund.
  • Courses you have completed are not refunded. Their grades stay on your record.
  • You may withdraw from one course and stay enrolled in your program. Nothing is owed for courses you have not registered for.
Worked examples

What this means in dollars

Examples for one bachelor's course at $240.

What happenedRefund
You withdraw on day 5. No assessment started.$240
You withdraw on day 14. No assessment started.$120
You withdraw on day 30.$0
You start the experience test on day 2 and do not reach the pass mark.$0, and you study the course at no further fee

The same rule applies to a master's course ($590, or $295 at 50%) and to a doctoral course ($790, or $395 at 50%).

Experience tests

When the fee pays for a test

  • The fee for a course pays for its assessment, whether you study the course or claim it through experience.
  • When you start an experience test, the fee is no longer refundable, whatever the result.
  • If you do not reach the pass mark, you study that course and take its assessment without paying for it again.
  • If a technical fault on our side interrupts a test, the test is reset at no fee. Tell us on the same day.
Doctoral project

The doctoral research project

The project fee pays for the project and its supervision, not for the time it takes.

  • The fee$4,740, paid in four instalments of $1,185: the first when the project starts, then one every three months.
  • If you withdrawEach instalment follows the rule for a course fee, counted from the day the instalment is due: 100% is refunded in days 1 to 7, 50% in days 8 to 21, and nothing after day 21.
  • The one conditionAn instalment is not refunded once you have submitted work to your supervisor in its period.
  • Other instalmentsInstalments for earlier periods are not refunded. Instalments that are not yet due are not owed if you withdraw.
  • If you finish earlyThe remaining instalments are paid before the final review of your project. The degree is awarded when the project fee has been paid in full.
  • No late chargeNothing is added to an instalment that is paid late. Supervision is paused until the instalment is paid, at the same amount.
  • After 90 daysIf an instalment is still unpaid 90 days after it was due, your account is closed and your enrolment is cancelled. Grades for the courses you have completed stay on your record.
  • Coming backYou may return within 12 months of a cancellation. You pay a new application fee at half its amount, $60, and then only the instalments not yet paid, at the same amounts. Your project work is kept for those 12 months.
  • After 12 months awayWhether your project was paused or your enrolment was cancelled, your project work is no longer kept after 12 months. A return is then a new application, at the fees in force at that time, and the project starts again. Grades for the courses you have completed stay on your record.
  • If you need more timeNo fee is added for extra time. If the project is not complete 12 months after it starts, it is paused, and the rule for a paused project applies.
  • A paused projectYou may also pause your project yourself, by writing to the registrar. Instalments stop while it is paused, and your work is kept for 12 months. If you return in that time, you continue where you stopped and pay only the instalments not yet paid.
Application fee

The $120 application fee

  • The ruleThe application fee pays for the review of your documents. It is not refundable once the review has started, whatever the decision.
  • Paid twiceA payment made twice by mistake is refunded in full.
  • Program not availableIf the University cannot offer the program you applied for, the application fee is refunded in full.
Our side

When the decision is ours

  • We cancel a course or a program

The fee for any course you have paid for and not completed is refunded in full, at any stage, and we propose a way for you to finish your degree.

  • We charge you in error

Any amount charged twice, or charged for a course you did not register for, is refunded in full.

  • We end an enrolment

If an enrolment is ended under the academic integrity policy, fees for the course concerned and for completed courses are not refunded.

  • Optional services

Notarization, apostille and courier delivery are refunded in full until we order them from the outside provider. After that, we refund what that provider refunds.

  • Scholarships

A fee that was waived by a scholarship has not been paid, so there is nothing to refund.

  • Your legal rights

Where the law of your country gives you a stronger right to cancel, that right applies.
