Terms of use
The rules for using this website. Your studies are governed by a separate document, the enrolment agreement you accept before any payment.
Who we are, and what these terms cover

- What is coveredThe public pages of this website, the experience estimator, the sample lesson, the sample test, the assistant and the certificate verification page.
- What is covered elsewhereYour studies, your fees and your grades are governed by your enrolment agreement, the academic catalog and the University policies. Where they differ from these terms, they apply.

- Who may applyYou must be at least 18 years old to apply to the University or to hold a Student Portal account.
The information on this site
- The pages of this site give general information about the University. We keep them accurate, and each policy carries a version number.
- Nothing on this site is an offer of admission. An offer is made only in writing, to a named applicant, after a review of that applicant's documents.
- The fees, the courses and the rules that apply to you are the ones in your written offer and in the edition of the catalog attached to your enrolment agreement.
- A degree supports a career. Nothing on this site is a promise of employment, of promotion, or of how an employer, a university or an authority will treat a degree. Our quality and accreditation statement says where the University stands.
The tools on this site
They are here to help you decide. None of them makes a decision about you.
- Experience estimatorIt gives a first estimate from your answers. It is not an assessment, and it does not commit the University to any number of courses.
- Sample lesson and sample testThey are for practice. Your answers are not recorded as a result, and they earn no credit.
- The assistant"Ask Berkshire" is an AI tool that answers from the information on this site. It can be wrong. Where its answer differs from a page of this site, the page applies. Please do not type personal or confidential details into it.
- Forms and documentsWhat you send through a form is handled as the privacy policy describes. Your documents remain yours. By sending them you allow the University to use them to review your application and to keep your record, and you confirm that they are genuine.
The verification page
- The verification page is for checking a document that you hold, or that was given to you, using the number and the code printed on it.
- A result shows what the University's records say at the moment of the check.
- Guessing codes, and checking documents in bulk by automated means, are not allowed. The page pauses after repeated wrong codes.
- If you need to confirm a document and do not have its code, write to the registrar.
Your account
- A Student Portal account belongs to one person.
- Keep your password to yourself. What is done in your account is treated as done by you.
- If you think someone else has used your account, tell us at once so that we can secure it.
- Letting another person study or sit a test in your account breaks the academic integrity policy.
Fair use of the site
When you use this site, you agree not to do any of the following.
- Give a false name, or send a document that is not genuine or is not yours.
- Try to reach another person's records, or any part of the site that is not open to you.
- Disrupt the site, probe its security, or collect its content by automated means.
- Copy, share or sell test questions or course materials.
- Use the site to send unlawful, abusive or misleading content.
We may suspend access for anyone who does these things, and a false document ends an application or an enrolment.
Who owns what
- The name, the logo and the seal of the University, the text of this site and the course materials belong to the University or to those who license them to it.
- You may read, download and print pages for your own personal use.
- You may not use the University's name, logo or seal in a way that suggests it supports a product, a service or a person.
- Nobody may issue or alter a document that imitates a University certificate or transcript.
- This site links to websites run by others. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they contain.
Liability, law and changes
- AvailabilityWe work to keep the site available and correct, but we do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors.
- LiabilityAs far as the law allows, the University is not liable for loss that results from using this website or relying on its general information. This does not limit what the University owes a student under the enrolment agreement and the refund policy.
- Your legal rightsWhere the law of your country gives you rights that cannot be set aside by agreement, those rights remain.
- Governing lawThese terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States.
- DisputesPlease use the complaints and appeals procedure first. A dispute that it does not settle is heard by the courts of the State of Colorado, unless the consumer law of your country gives you the right to use the courts where you live.
- If a term cannot applyIf a court finds that part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not act on a breach at once, we have not given up the right to act on it later.
- ChangesWe may change these terms. Each version carries a number, and the version in force is the one on this page.
