Our path to international accreditation
Accreditation is earned, one program at a time. This page tells you where we stand today and what we are building toward.
In plain words
- Who we areA private online university operated by Berkshire University LLC, a company formed in Colorado, USA, in 2015.
- Our degreesAcademic degrees awarded by the University on the basis of assessed experience and completed study.
- Where we areWe are preparing our programs for international accreditation, program by program. Each accreditation will be announced on this page, with its documents, on the day it is granted, and never before.
- What it means for youUntil an accreditation is announced here, each employer, university and government body decides for itself whether it accepts the degree. If you need your degree for a specific purpose, such as a government post, ask that body before you enrol.
- Our promiseWe tell you where we stand before you pay, and we ask every applicant to confirm they have read this page.
Three stages
- In progressBuild to published standards
Courses, credit hours, grading and assessment records are designed to the standards that international accreditors review. A credit hour here is about 45 hours of learning.
- NextPrepare each program
Programs are prepared and submitted one at a time, starting where our curriculum is most complete.
- On the day it is grantedAnnounce it, with the documents
Each outcome is published here, with the accreditor's name, the scope, the dates and the certificate.
What is already in place
Every grade is earned
Grades come from an assessment: a test of experience, or a course you studied. Read the policy.
Standard credit hours
A bachelor's degree is 120 credit hours, built from courses of 3 credit hours each.
Verifiable documents
Every certificate and transcript carries a number and a code that anyone can check. Verify a certificate.
Decisions on record
Each assessment decision is logged with its evidence, and a sample is audited every month.
A right of appeal
Students can appeal any result. A person makes the final decision.
Published policies
Our assessment, grading and integrity policies are public. Read them.
Accreditation news
No announcements yet
When a program is granted accreditation, the announcement and its documents will appear here on the same day.
About document authentication. Graduates can have their documents notarized and apostilled for use abroad. An apostille confirms the signature and seal on a document. It is a separate matter from accreditation.
